    Nothing Like a Five-Star Experience – Poor Accommodation & Customer Service

    There was very little to like about the property. The location was convenient for our stay, but unfortunately the overall condition and cleanliness of the accommodation overshadowed any positives

    The property was poorly maintained and nowhere near the standard I expected. We found ripped tea bags, Skittles left on the floor between and under the sofa cushions, cobwebs, dirty rugs, a chipped table, a large crack running down the front door and an exposed screw on the bunk-bed ladder, which was a safety concern. The door lock was also faulty — the double lock was defective and we were actually locked inside the property for sometime. This was extremely concerning from a safety perspective. I reported the issues as soon as we arrived. I also paid £30 for a damage waiver for our two-night stay, and guests should be aware that the terms require existing damage to be reported during the stay. The customer service afterwards was equally disappointing. I was told in writing that I would receive a 30% refund, but the £42 actually refunded did not amount to 30% of the £227 I paid. I queried this and was told it would be looked into. My last email was 23 July, and as of 7 August I am still waiting for a response. The lack of communication and repeated chasing has been extremely disappointing. The property was described as offering a five-star experience, but unfortunately my experience was nowhere near that standard.
