    Avoid at All Costs Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we have had with holiday accommodation. We arrived for a family holiday with our 16-month-old son and found the caravan extremely dirty and apparently not properly cleaned. We attempted to clean some areas ourselves using the vacuum provided, but it had an unpleasant smell and appeared not to have been emptied or maintained. There were also serious safety concerns. The freezer was heavily frosted and leaking water onto the floor near the entrance, creating a slipping hazard. Both my son and I slipped on the wet floor, which was particularly concerning with such a young child. Outside the caravan, we found broken glass in the area where our son would have been playing, making the outdoor space unsafe for young children. We were also concerned to discover a Ring doorbell camera that had not been disclosed before our stay. We asked for the battery to be removed due to our privacy concerns, but this request was declined. Although we were told the device was not being accessed, the blue light was repeatedly visible during our stay, which caused further concern. Due to the cleanliness, safety and privacy issues, we felt we had no option but to leave after one night and arrange alternative accommodation at our own expense. This added significant cost and stress to what was supposed to be a family holiday. We informed the owner of our concerns and requested a refund for the unused nights. Although we were initially given the impression that the matter would be resolved, we were later informed through Booking.com that no refund would be provided. In our opinion, the caravan did not match the standard or description advertised and was not suitable for families with young children. Overall, this was a very stressful, disappointing and costly experience. Families, particularly those travelling with young children, should consider these issues carefully before booking.
