  Subject: Formal Complaint - Stay at 1509 Strand - [Your Reservation Number] ​Dear 1509 Strand Management, ​I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction regarding my recent stay at your property, which I booked via Booking.com. This trip was intended to celebrate my birthday in Cape Town, but unfortunately, the service I received was appalling and made the experience unbearable. ​The issues began immediately with a frustrating check-in process. Despite being the individual who made the reservation, I was never given proper access to the premises. I was told there were not enough security tags available, forcing me to rely on staff to open doors for me throughout my entire stay. This was not only inconvenient but felt like a complete lack of basic hospitality. Furthermore, I noticed that others were being allowed entry without tags, which raises serious concerns about the integrity and security of the building. Because of these restrictions, I was also unable to have any visitors. ​Most distressing, however, was the incident involving the cleaning staff. We discovered that our food had been taken from our unit. When questioned, the helper initially claimed she was told to throw it away. She then proceeded to hide in a different unit. After further investigation, our food was "miraculously" returned to us, though a bottle of olive oil from Woolworths, valued at R200, was missing and never recovered. ​This level of service—marked by unprofessionalism, security lapses, and theft—is completely unacceptable. It cast a significant shadow over what should have been a celebratory occasion. ​I request that you investigate these matters urgently. I look forward to hearing how you intend to rectify this situation and what steps will be taken regarding the conduct of the security and cleaning personnel involved. ​Sincerely,
