  Its was ok

  The bedroom and living area and kitchen was good.

  Entrance door was so dirty that we felt unwelcoming. The small corridor needed cleaning up. Bathroom lock was falling apart. Most important - we could not communicate with the host. We called the phone number mentioned on the property ad when we reserved but no one picked up. Zero communication.

  Nothing like the photos – very poorly maintained

  I have never left a negative review on Booking before, but after this stay I simply couldn't justify leaving anything else. Future guests deserve an honest picture of what they're actually booking. We wanted to shorten our stay almost immediately after arriving. We even contacted the host about leaving early, but ended up checking out one day early because we simply didn't want to stay there anymore. The disappointment started before we even stepped inside. The entrance door was so dirty that I genuinely thought it couldn't be the correct entrance and accidentally walked into our neighbors' apartment. The apartment had a persistent unpleasant odor, and the cleanliness was unacceptable. After walking around for only a short time, our white socks turned almost black from the dirty floors. The rug, windows, window frames, and heater were all visibly dirty. There were also several maintenance issues. The air conditioner remote had no batteries, the TV box remote didn't work because it was missing one of the battery contacts, the decorative clock was broken, and the walls were scratched and poorly repaired. The backyard looked abandoned rather than welcoming, with weeds growing through the deck, garbage, old discarded items, and boarded-up doors directly above the patio. It looked nothing like the listing photos. This was far from the cheapest accommodation in Quebec City, so we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and maintenance. Old doesn't have to mean dirty or poorly maintained. I'm not writing this review to be unfair to the host. I simply don't want other travelers to book this property expecting the experience shown in the listing photos. The listing photos create expectations that the property simply doesn't meet.
