  Misleading accommodation description, lack of privacy and poor facilities

  The location

  My experience at this property was extremely disappointing, particularly because the accommodation I received did not match my understanding of the booking or the subsequent assurances I received from the landlord. When I initially booked, the property was not advertised to me as a shared apartment. It was only after the free-cancellation period had expired that I became aware of further details about the shared arrangement. This left me in a difficult position, as cancelling would have meant potentially losing money on the booking. I contacted the landlord through Booking.com to clarify the arrangements and specifically asked whether my colleague and I would still have our own separate rooms, with only the kitchen shared. The landlord confirmed that we would have our own rooms and that only the kitchen would be shared. We therefore proceeded on that understanding. On arrival, the actual arrangement was very different. The two-bedroom flat was occupied by a stranger in one bedroom, while my colleague and I were allocated the other bedroom between us. An additional bed had been placed in the living room, where I had to sleep. This was not the separate-room arrangement I had specifically asked about and been assured of. The lack of privacy made the entire stay uncomfortable. My colleague and I constantly had to disturb one another to access the bathroom, shower and other shared areas. The living room was not a suitable alternative communal space: my bed was there alongside the sofa, there was no television, and the only TV was in the bedroom. We had no comfortable space in which to relax without intruding on each other’s personal space. The sleeping arrangements were inadequate. Neither bed appeared to have a proper mattress, with only a mattress topper provided, and one bed had no pillows. We requested proper duvets and suitable bedding, but the landlord declined our requests. This further reduced the comfort of an already disappointing stay.

  Great location stay

  We loved the location, on a peaceful street but near to coffee shops and bars. Prague II is a lovely area. The apartment is just as it looks on the photo's, exception being the television is now in the bedroom nearest to the bathroom. Beds were comfy as was the sofa for sitting. The kitchen is well equipped with coffee pods provided which is a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again for sure.

  Our only negative is the shower rail needs replacing, as when the shower is turned on the shower head flips up soaking the bathroom and sink area rather than on you and won't stay where you need it. I'm sure this is on the owners to do list though as everything else is in such great condition, it may even have been done already!

  The apartment was clean, and the location was very nice.

  The accommodation was misleadingly presented as a Two-Bedroom Suite. We were not clearly informed before booking that the apartment contains a third bedroom occupied by other guests and that we would have to share some area of apartment with strangers. Privacy is very important to us, and this was not acceptable. Because of this, we had to leave after only 2 nights of a 5-night booking and arrange alternative accommodation at our own expense. We believe the listing should clearly state that the common areas are shared with other guests.
