we contacted booking.com who passed the buck to the property, so many violations health & safety
Extremely disappointing and, more importantly, unsafe The building works now shown on the listing were not disclosed or visible when we made our booking. This is not simply work taking place on a neighbouring property — the building site directly affects this house and creates a serious safety risk for anyone staying there. When I went to use the side door, I was shocked to find that it opened directly onto the building site. I nearly fell approximately 3 feet onto the site, where there was wood protruding from concrete and building equipment, including saws, left lying around. There was no warning, notice or barrier on the side door to alert guests to the danger. Had this happened in the dark, the consequences could have been extremely serious. There are also three easily accessible points of entry into the building site, which is particularly concerning for families. I would absolutely not recommend this property to anyone travelling with children in its current condition. Unfortunately, the problems do not stop there. The property itself was disappointing, with dirty, stained carpets and kitchen drawers that were falling apart. We immediately raised these concerns with the owner and have attempted to contact them by both email and telephone. Despite outlining the issues and providing photographs, the owner has not responded or returned our calls. We are equally disappointed with Booking.com. Despite providing photographs and explaining the safety concerns, we were told that we needed to deal with the owner. However, the owner is now completely unresponsive. It is extremely frustrating to have paid a significant amount of money for a stay and then feel that no one is taking responsibility for what appears to be a serious and avoidable safety issue. This property currently feels like an accident waiting to happen. Guests should not have to discover potentially dangerous building-site access themselves, particularly when there are no adequate warnings or barr

Brilliant location.
House undergoing building work (looks like an extension). The back garden has been dug up and left with rocks on the grass/ big clumps of soil. One third of the garden (not advertised) was fenced off for the works, to which we were not aware of. A piece of glass sticking up in the rear patio. Stain marks on the carpets downstairs didn’t feel as clean as should have been. Shower curtain has orange stains on the bottom all the way across. House needs a good deep clean overall.

Extremely dissapointed
We got an hour earlier check in The location was convenient for blenhaim palace The beds were comfortable
The house was terribly shabby, starting with the exterior there was a massive ugly wooden partition where there is building works going on and the garden is an overground mess full of weeds, upon entry the the carpets in the lounge/dining room are stained, the walls are dirty in dining room the kitchen is terribly old and battered, drawers don't open/close properly etc, the back garden is affected by building works too, it's unsightly with ugly partition fencing, uneven sections that have been dug up and there is a leak from an overflow pipe that drains into a bucket by the back patio doors, despite the gorgeous weather we decided against sitting out there. The wall paper in hall stairs and landing peeling and basically the whole house could do with some major money spending on it to bring it to a decent standard. Absolutely not worth the £500 we paid for our 1nights stay. On the few plus sides although shabby the place was clean but clearly the cleaners can't do anything about the wear and tear and we thought the beds were comfy.
