    Avoid this place and this town in the month of October.

    Location next to the ski resort and restaurant was good, except that everything was shut down and closed several weeks before we got there. Host did a good job getting us into the resort area using remote method and left keys inside the apartment. There was a clothes washing machine.

    While other areas in the Dolomites were all open in October for hiking, in Madonna Campiglia, however, the Patascoss resort, nearly all restaurants in town, all of the lifts were closed down for off season Sept 20. A responsible host would have told us ahead of time. If we had known, we would not have come. The heat in the apartment was turned off for off season and the apartment was very cold with only a small space heater for 3 rooms. It was not comfortable taking a shower. The apartment was rather dark. The seals on the large windows had failed so they were cloudy between the glass and you could not see much outside. Could have been beautiful view but untrimmed shrubs obscured it. An apartment across the courtyard was being demolished with a jack hammer from 7am to 7pm both days we were there. There was no soap for the clothes washer.
