Very disappointing experience — not the luxury stay advertised
Good location. Gym was useful, pool on roof was nice.
Unfortunately, this stay fell far short of what was advertised as a “luxury” apartment. We paid around £1,200 and experienced repeated problems throughout our stay. I would not recommend this at all. I don’t understand how this property has achieved this rating. From Check-in we had problems. Check in is advertised after 2pm however when we arrived we were told that the apartment through booking.com was actually managed by a 3rd party who would need to come and check us in. We were told they were on their way, then we were told they would be there soon, then they were at another property checking guests in. Reception then told us they had shared they would be 4mins but arrived 25mins later. In total we were sat waiting at check in for an hour and a half after a whole day travelling. When we did get checked in the person checking us in had their stuff in our apartment all over the table as he had clearly been using it and staying there. On arrival, there were no towels in the room, no safe provided or brought when asked, the bedroom door lock was faulty and didn’t work, balcony doors that were not locked or properly secured when we arrived and bedside lamps hanging off the walls. There was also a persistent loud squeak in the living area which was very annoying. So disappointing to have this first impression. We specifically booked an apartment so that we could cook and cater for our dietary requirements. However, the oven/stove did not work and repeatedly tripped the fuse, meaning we were unable to prepare our own meals or meet our dietary needs and we had to spend additional money buying food and eating out instead. The most disappointing and frustrating thing was that despite reporting these issues, we had to repeatedly chase for updates over several days with no pro active communication.
