0% child-friendly, Adults only!!
1/2 I usually don't write negative reviews and almost always give top ratings on Booking – this is my first bad review, but I cannot remain silent. I never expected that in a 5-star hotel, I would need to dig through pool regulations before booking, which are impossible to find anywhere anyway. Our stay was completely ruined by the terrible staff attitude and the sheer arrogance of the management. The first major downside is how they treat children (0% child-friendly). My 10-year-old son was rudely forced out of the pool by a lifeguard (Stefano?) simply because he was swimming with a standard inflatable ring. My son does not speak English and only understood the aggressive hand-waving gestures ordering him out of the water immediately. This was incredibly stressful for a child. The lifeguard even banned playing with a tiny 10 cm ball. The pool area has 3 different zones – the hotel could easily allocate one for kids to play with small inflatables, but there was zero flexibility. Another situation completely ruined an entire day. We went to breakfast at 10:00 AM – exactly when the towel station opened, so we took towels and laid them on the sunbeds along with a bag of toiletries and my son's belongings. After breakfast, we had to stop by our room briefly because my son got a stomach ache (he needed medication and had to lie down for a moment). We returned around 11:30 AM, and our things were gone! The staff had rudely thrown them into a disposable trash bag and stuffed them in a towel storage room because they supposedly took a picture and 30 minutes had passed. In a 5-star hotel, this is unacceptable – the towels weren't there since 6:00 AM, only from 10:00 AM. We could have been at the restaurant or the beach; what we were doing is our business.
2/2 We called the manager, and the way the situation was handled was scandalous. The first part of the conversation was about the sunbeds. The manager treated us with utter condescension. Instead of being helpful and apologetic, she left us standing in the scorching heat with a sick child. We felt like criminals with everyone staring at us. She rudely snapped that the rules were on the wall for me to read. She didn't care at all that my child's personal belongings and our toiletries were thrown into a trash bag. Only after a long while did someone arrange some sunbeds for us, crammed under a tree. In the second part of the conversation, we brought up the incident from a few days prior regarding my son being kicked out of the pool. The manager's reaction was even worse. She arrogantly stated that when booking through Booking, "everything regarding the pool is in the online regulations." To top it off, she maliciously added: "if you want to swim with an inflatable ring, I invite you to go to the beach and swim in the sea." You expect class and solutions from a 5-star manager, not petty, rude remarks to a guest. The management completely failed. To be fair: the hotel cannot rely solely on the professionalism of Natalie from the restaurant, who is absolutely lovely. The entire restaurant staff was very professional. However, 5-star standards should apply to everyone – including frustrated lifeguards and, above all, the management, who completely failed the hospitality test. If you are traveling with family, avoid this hotel at all costs. Nothing can compensate for the stress caused to my child and the total lack of respect from the management. The customer service definitely does not deserve 5 stars.
