    A friendly welcome in rural,'authentic' Sicily

    Interesting place with a fascinating history, the courtyard is remarkable. Emmanuella was a friendly and accommodating host. We arrived late, having just arrived on the ferry to Palermo. We were prepared for it to be rural but the location is quite isolated so rather difficult to find in the dark. When we arrived the barrier was across the drive and we didn't realise that we only had to remove the padlock and push it open, this was explained when we called from the entrance. We were very grateful for the delicious dinner which Emmanuella prepared for us. We only stayed one night so weren't able to enjoy the swimming pool which looked amazing in its rural setting. We felt we were experiencing 'authentic' Sicily.

    Room and facilities were fairly basic. No breakfast was provided (was this a misunderstanding about the booking?) but Emmanuella kindly gave us tea bags, a couple of eggs which we managed to boil in the rather primitive kitchen, and bread.

    We really loved it here. I recommend you to take your time and spend a couple of days relaxing at Emanuela's Masseria. Reading by the lovely pool, looking at the beautiful landscape, playing with the cats and enjoying the delicious homemade food. Slow living at its best. Emanuela is very likeable and has lots of interesting experience to share about agriculture and life in countryside. Hope to come back one day!

    La masseria è il posto ideale se vuoi vivere un'esperienza di campagna autentica, quasi indietro nel tempo. È un'oasi di pace immersa nella natura, dove i ritmi rallentano. Ti dimenticherai del caos quotidiano e dei rumori molesti della modernità. Emanuela è gentile e presente, si dedica con passione alla cura del luogo e degli ospiti, proponendo anche piatti realizzati con ingredienti freschissimi. Io e la mia compagna ci siamo sentiti coccolati e ci siamo rilassati molto. Lo consigliamo.
