The on-site onsen was great, as well as the large tubs in the rooms. The food was tremendous!
The room was beautiful and interesting with the bathroom on upper level and bedroom on bottom. However with my husband’s knee issues, this was hard for him with bathroom trips during the night.

Peace and tranquility in Japan
Loved the welcome - enjoyed the local dress robes and loved the beautiful hotel room and facilities
Whilst we knew it would be a set menu and very traditional food we found some dishes were a little too much for our tastes but that is a personal issue, NOT a reflection on the wonderful hotel, hosts and cuisine

Incredible food and staff at this lovely ryokan
The food was incredible. I read a review saying it was Michelin star level and thought... bahh! But it really was outstanding quality and presentation. Thank you to Yumi San and all the staff who made my stay so lovely. The onsen is small but lovely and tranquil. The maisonette rooms are very comfortable. I can't speak more highly of the entire experience. Definitely do the meal package.
On a couple of occassins fumes would enter the room from what I assume was a generator. But but it only occurred briefly and closing the window for a few minutes fixed it..
