    A VERY BAD INITIAL EXPERIENCE!

    I did not like to have my booking changed on arrival. I had booked a room for 3 people with 3 beds. On arrival I was told they had decided to upgrade my booking (which had been done some time in June) and instead I would be staying at an apartment nearby. I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS, all I wanted was my bedroom for 3. I WAS VERY UPSET and although I was moved into the room I initially booked the morning after I felt it was a very bad beginning for a very short stay in Venice. I think it was an ABUSE. Let me say that some 2 weeks before I travelled I received an email asking if I would be interested in an upgrade for some other distant location. I replied under no UNCLEAR TERMS that I DID NOT. So it seems that people at the hotel are NOT RELIABLE! I am sorry for the lady at the reception who might have very little to do with the situation and had to face my complaints on arrival. I was offered a free breakfast the morning after but I DID NOT ACCEPT. Apart from the above, the stay was fine. I had actually stayed at the hotel some 2 or 3 times before.
