  Unprofessional Customer Service

  First, the good. The location is excellent -right on the beach - and it’s a lovely touch that guests are given towels and access to the bar in front, with loungers and an umbrella to enjoy the beach. The young lady who checked us in was wonderful: warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful with recommendations for local restaurants, tours and laundry options. She set a great first impression. A few smaller things were simply workable. Beach towels are provided one per stay, and a fresh towel costs extra - an unusual rule, but manageable. Breakfast was average; having stayed in many hotels, I found it a little underwhelming, though there was still enough to enjoy. One point of confusion: the room looked nothing like the photos we booked from. The listing showed a modern, nicely renovated room, but ours, while it had a lovely beach view and a large balcony, was dated and seemed to be still awaiting renovation. I didn’t mind the trade-off for the view, but I’d have appreciated being told before carrying our luggage up four flights of stairs, rather than being left to assume something had gone wrong. So, be aware that photos are possibly for a more premium/renovated offering.

  We used the in-house laundry service, following the instructions given and separating lights from colours. When it was returned, a couple of items were missing, including one of sentimental value. I raised it politely, simply wanting to check whether it was still in the laundry room or distributed to another room, and even offered to help look. Instead of help, I was met with defensiveness and repeated suggestions that I simply hadn’t looked properly. What followed is something I am still struggling to shake off. Before any solution was even discussed, several members of staff came up to our room and I was asked to open all of my bags and lift out my belongings, one by one, to prove I wasn’t hiding the items. As if that were not humiliating enough, it wasn’t deemed sufficient - staff then began going through my personal things themselves, without my consent, handling even my underwear in front of everyone (they will now argue otherwise). We didn't allowed them to go through all of the luggage (2 out of 4) - we shouldn't have allowed it at all. I cannot describe how exposed and degraded this made me feel. I was left in genuine shock, standing in my own room while strangers searched through my most private belongings over a mistake that was not mine. It is the kind of moment that stays with you long after a holiday should have ended. When I later spoke with the owner, hoping for a calm resolution, the same approach continued: I was told how much laundry they handle without issue, that this had never happened before, and therefore that no amends were owed. I had not asked for the bill to be waived - only for the missing item to be acknowledged and a fair resolution found. Throughout the entire morning, not once did anyone say sorry. I paid the laundry bill in full simply to bring the experience to an end - they took 0 accountability. In their view, we either concealed it, or it just vanished. That is not a business you want to deal with on your holiday.
