    Wouldn't stay again

Unfortunately, our stay was seriously affected by a major security incident. We were two women staying in the property when, in the evening, an unknown man suddenly unlocked and opened our room door and walked inside. He genuinely believed that he had been given this room for his stay. The property uses remote electronic access and has no reception or staff on site. The owners are based abroad, and despite calling repeatedly, including from different numbers - we could not reach them. We also received no response to our messages through Booking.com at the time. We eventually managed to contact the owner, who confirmed that it was their mistake and that the other guest should have been given access to a different room. What is particularly concerning is that there is no lock on the inside of the room door, so we had no way to secure ourselves from inside after this happened. Knowing that an unknown person had been given access to our room made us extremely uncomfortable and worried about leaving our belongings there or sleeping safely. Mistakes can happen, but giving another guest unrestricted electronic access to an occupied room is a very serious privacy and security failure. The fact that the property could not be contacted when the incident occurred made the situation even more frightening. The accommodation itself may be fine, but we unfortunately cannot recommend staying somewhere where room access can be incorrectly assigned and guests have no way to secure the door from inside.
