  A very disappointing experience that did not remotely match the advertised luxury standard

  The location was a bit of a trek on narrow winding roads and it took us a while to find it, but even Google Maps had a hard time finding it, but the view was nice.

  We paid over USD $5,000 (almost EUR 5000) for five nights for what was advertised as a luxury villa. Unfortunately, the property was not in a condition that we considered acceptable for a luxury accommodation, particularly at this price point. On arrival we found extensive cleanliness and hygiene problems throughout the villa. There was visible dust and dirt, unswept and unmopped flooring, dirty toilets and showers, crumbs and debris on kitchen and food-preparation surfaces, and stained and dirty furniture. The coffee machine contained old coffee and used grounds with VISIBLE MOULD. We also found stained pillowcases and bedding, URINE splatter around toilet waste bins, candy wrappers on a bedroom floor, and a loft area containing thick dust, a bird feather and a USED EAR SWAB. There were also loose electrical outlets, dining-room lights that did not work and unreliable Wi-Fi (if you need to work while you are in Lefkada, don’t stay here – I could not speak with clients without calls dropping repeatedly). Within approximately 36 hours of arrival, multiple members of our group developed severe vomiting and diarrhea, and one 72-year-old member of our family required hospital treatment including IV treatment. I cannot establish that the property caused the illness, however, many of us arrived from different locations, so the timing was extremely concerning given the hygiene conditions we had documented immediately upon arrival. We remained at the villa because relocating seven people, including two children, after international travel was not realistically possible at the last minute. Our decision to remain should not be interpreted as acceptance of the condition of the accommodation. What made the experience particularly disappointing was the response from management. Rather than simply acknowledging that the property had not been adequately prepared, our concerns were disputed and characterized as exaggerated of the purpose of claiming reimbursement (we received none)

  Definitely recommend, the villa is spacious, has 2 kitchens and enough rooms and bathrooms for 2 families with kids. The pool is a big plus and the view over Lefkas city is magnificent! Here you can have a real vacation, it’s quiet, a cleaning lady comes every day to clean the pool and barbecue facilities and every 3 days she changes the sheets and towels and cleans the floors and bathrooms.

  Maybe the only thing is that the shower room on the first floor needs renovating as it leeks, but nothing uncomfortable.

  Definitely worth a visit

  This property will not disappoint. It is absolutely stunning. The pool and view are definite highlights. The sunrises are spectacular. The house itself is lovely. Plenty of space for six adults. Really comfortable beds. Excellent air conditioning. You do need a car however as it’s in the hills. Very easy to find. We absolutely loved our stay here.

  No deal breakers, just a few more kitchen utensils would have been great. A peeler and scissors. Other than that it really was all wonderful
