    Our stay was disappointing due to discomfort and poor host flexibility

    Our stay at this accommodation left us with mixed feelings. We chose it based on its high rating, but the reality did not match our expectations. For example, from February to March 2024, the same person left four reviews with a rating of "10," which raises doubts about the objectivity of the rating.

    The accommodation itself was generally acceptable but had significant drawbacks. The mattress on the bed was terrible, and despite complaints from previous guests, the host had not replaced it. The blinds in the bedroom were not working, and there were no other curtains, which caused significant discomfort. Additionally, the chair was broken, and we had to repair it ourselves. However, the biggest disappointment was the situation with our early departure and the subsequent communication. Due to severe personal circumstances (medical treatment), we had to leave on December 3rd, even though the apartment was paid for until December 25th. We contacted the host requesting a partial refund for the unused period, fully understanding that the decision was at her discretion. Given the Christmas season, we hoped the apartment would quickly find new guests. We repeatedly asked whether the apartment had been re-rented and requested consideration of a partial refund. However, the responses were vague, and we found no evidence that the apartment had been listed for rent after our departure. In the end, we lost $1,393 with no compensation whatsoever, despite our willingness to accept any reasonable amount that would not cause inconvenience to the host but would help us with our medical expenses. If flexibility in travel, an honest rating, and a responsible host are essential, I recommend considering other accommodation options.
