    My new favourite hotel in the world

    Hats off to the management at Andaz Amsterdam. We just spent 4 days here and it was a genuinely lovely stay, almost entirely because of the staff. Every person we dealt with was warm, attentive and clearly proud of where they work. I was traveling with my 83-year-old godmother, who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. The staff went above and beyond in caring for her, from getting her in and out of the hotel to making sure she was comfortable at every meal. Their kindness made the whole trip so much easier and more enjoyable for both of us. The contrast couldn’t have been sharper. We came straight from the Hyatt Centric in Barcelona, which fell short on every level. Andaz was the opposite: it hit the top of the scale in every category. Food and beverage was outstanding. Breakfast was incredible, easily one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had, and even the lounge had tasty snacks, which is not something I usually say about a hotel lounge. Speaking of which, the canal-front lounge with its floor-to-ceiling windows is a gorgeous place to sit with a drink and watch the city go by. The design throughout the hotel is great. The location is the best in Amsterdam. Everything is within easy reach, and you’re right on the canal. This is now my favourite hotel in the world. I’ll be back!

    I didn't like that I had to leave. Could have stayed another week.
