  Eventually alright, but had to go through some trouble

  The location is good, close to a cute beach and about 20min drive to Corfu city. The Faliraki beach bar (run by different owners, 5min walk from the hotel) was really lovely, very fairly priced, the owners were so friendly and provided excellent service. The room we eventually were moved into was quite nice, spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately it was a bit of a challenge to get it.

  The owners seems to be compulsive liars, when we first arrived they told us the room we booked was not available and therefore they would put in in a bigger room which was supposedly an “upgrade” from the room we booked. The room we got was completely different than the pictures on booking, it was tight, dark, the bathroom was old and full of mould, there were dead flies and spider nets on the walls, the plates were dirty and also the rest of the room seemed very superficially cleaned. There was no wifi or reception in the room which made things difficult for us as we also had to work remotely a few hours a day. As we thought this was the only room available, we asked if we could shorten our stay. The owners didn’t let us as they said we were making things up, and that because of our booking they couldn’t get other guests (we asked to leave 2 days in advance, so there would have been time, and they also had other free rooms). After we asked them to then at least clean the room properly they told us they could move us to the room we originally booked (thought it wasn’t available?), but then later they backtracked and said that actually this room was an upgrade. We got into the room and were very positively surprised, it looked much cleaner, it looked like the pictures in our booking, it was bright and spacious, the wifi signal was strong. So ultimately we were happy to stay, but it was really a shame to experience this unnecessary stress, instead of being able to enjoy our trip. Besides that, the room was still rather superficially cleaned, would recommend doing a deep-cleaning every once in a while. There were also other (smaller but obvious) lies from the owners which didn’t really affect the quality of our stay but rather our overall impression of them and how they run their business.

  The host was great and super ftiendly, the location was amazing, I loved it!
