  Scam Scam Scam - They tried to give us a much worse apartment when we arrived

  Scam Scam Scam - So our experience started when I received a message from the host called 'Bacho' on Friday. We were due to check in 2 days later on Sunday. I had read from a previous customer saying that when they arrived they were given a different apartment that in no way resembled anything like the photos advertised. So I specifically mentioned this in our chat; 'Also - can you confirm that we will get the apartment that we booked and as per the photos on booking.com and everything is working fine? I read a review from a while ago where a customer said that the apartment had problems and they had to move to another apartment?' - The reply was; 'We had a minor issues but now everything is well'.... After that we just shared details about my our flight and arrival time to the apartment. Nothing else was mentioned by the host about the apartment. I have screenshots of our message exchange and my partner took photos of the other apartment they tried to scam us into. We were due to stay for 4 nights. They cancelled our booking as soon as they realised that we were not going to accept the con/ scam.

  We flew in from Yerevan and arrived at the specified address (17 Pavle Ingorokva St) at 6:40pm. My partner realised upon arrival that she had booked a property in this building few years back and mentioned that she was given a different apartment than the one booked upon her arrival. I told her that I had confirmation via text message that we would get the apartment as advertised. 2 gentlemen met us at the address and asked us to follow them to a building entrance next door. We suddenly realised the scam was coming. A similar thing had happened to us in Yerevan, so we knew what to expect. We were shown a totally different apartment at a different address that was nothing like the one that we had booked. It was much older and outdated. We received every excuse possible in the nicest way, but when I showed them the text messages and confirmation that we would get the property as per the description and photos on booking.com, they ran out of excuses. I immediately booked a nearby hotel for the night as I refused to give these con men a cent of our money. One nice thing did happen - one of the guys helped us with our luggage to the hotel which was a couple of minutes walk away. I have since been advised by a different con man that if an apartment looks modern and too good to be true, it is usually photos from an apartment that has been fully updated by an ex pat/ foreigner to live in and not available to rent for short stays or even at all. Maybe true? A thug/ Gangster will use intimidation and threats to get what they want. A Con Man will be the nicest person, pretend to offer you something that benefits you and that somehow they are the victim. This was clearly the work of a Con Man/ Men. The best analogy I can give is like agreeing to buy a car that has 5000kms mileage and is 1 year old and then when you get there you are told that the car is not available but they have a bigger car for you that has 50,000kms mileage and is 10 years old!

  Free Private Parking

  Everything was perfect, Location, Wifi, Cleanliness, Host, They also give us free private parking which was so comfortable.
