Booking confirmation does not guarantee your stay

    Nothing!

24 hours before check-in, I reached out to the host to arrange the check-in and key handover, just to be told that we cannot stay in the apartment without providing any alternatives. We booked this apartment almost a month in advance and with a cancellation 24 hours before arrival you can imagine how many options are left and for which price. The host was unfriendly and stopped answering my messages and calls. She was pushing me to cancel from my side to avoid consequences with Booking.com. Never do that, reach out to the Booking customer service. Booking will help you find an alternative and help cover any additional charges resulting from this convenience. After I checked the reviews here it turns out I'm not the first one to face this misadventure. It's very important to report this kind of behavior to help stop it.
