    Great location, but serious issues with hygiene and communication

    On one hand, it’s not a real holiday without a trip to Croatia, but on the other hand, the apartment was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. On a positive note, the property manager was very helpful and lives in the house next door. The property has direct beach access through a beautiful olive grove that provides nice shade. Sun loungers are available for guests, and there are outdoor showers in the garden that we could use.

    It turned out that the additional bedroom on the top floor had bedbugs. We reported the issue to the owner, who cleaned the room, but we stopped using it altogether. Unfortunately, the problem returned after three days. It is clear that the owners want to get rid of the bedbugs, but their efforts are quite ineffective. Upon arrival, it is highly recommended to thoroughly check the mattresses and beds to see if the issue persists. Unfortunately, Booking.com was not helpful as an intermediary either. They claimed they couldn't do anything without the owner's consent, and customer support was trying reach out to owner property without success. The owner came in person to apologize for the situation and offered a free two-day stay at another property. However, it felt like it was all just an act, as communication was cut off shortly after. We demanded a partial refund for the situation, and we received a confirmation on WhatsApp from our contact person that they would refund 50% of the cost for the apartment stay. Whenever we followed up on this, we were repeatedly assured that they would process the transfer through Booking, etc. Unfortunately, once we returned home, they stopped responding entirely, and we never saw the money. We were traveling as two families and rented two apartments. In general, the apartments were only superficially cleaned. While parts of the property had been refreshed, the dust on the lamps, sockets, and under the beds left a lot to be desired.
