Practical location
It was close to the train station which was our main reason for choosing this apartment. It also accommodated 5 adults but would be better for 2 couples. The apartment is in a residential building so be mindful of the neighbors. We walked to the old town for dinner with tons of great restaurants. The host was amazing and responded to our inquiries almost immediately.

A quiet neighborhood in a nice apartment
The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood near the University of Bologna, about a 20-minute walk from the city center. We really enjoyed the area—it’s lively and full of young people, with plenty of restaurants and places to explore. Of course, we also had to try the famous Bolognese pasta while we were there! Once we got inside, though, the apartment itself was very nice. It had everything we needed for our stay, including a washer and dryer, and there was even a balcony overlooking the neighborhood. The only downside for us was that the beds were quite soft. Overall, we enjoyed the apartment and its quiet location near the university. The apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped, but the check-in instructions, building directions, and communication about additional fees could definitely be improved.
Before our stay, the host sent us a video with detailed instructions on how to get into the building, retrieve the key, and enter the apartment. Make sure you watch the entire video before arriving. However, the video definitely needs to be updated. The keypad and entry system at the door look different from what is shown in the video, which made things confusing. Finding the correct building was also quite difficult. The buildings are not numbered in an obvious order, and there are four buildings in the area. I ended up walking around to all four before finally finding the right entrance. There was also no one around to ask for help, so you really have to figure it out on your own. An updated video with clearer directions or photos of the building and entrance would make the check-in process much easier. One thing to be aware of if you’re traveling by car: you need to enter the apartment first to retrieve the key before you can access the garage. It’s a little inconvenient, and you will have to use the key to return it back to the apartment before you leave. There was also a tourist tax that had to be paid in cash. We were charged €5.80 per person, per night. This additional fee was not mentioned to us before our visit. In terms of price, this was one of the more expensive places we stayed during our Italy trip. We booked through Booking.com, so I’m not sure if the price would have been lower by booking directly with the owner. Compared with our stays in Rome, Florence, and Venice, this was the most expensive apartment per night. With the additional tourist tax and parking fee, the total cost ended up being even higher.
