Don't book the Family Appartment with 3 bedrooms!

In June we booked an Appartment for October with 3 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom via booking.com. On arrival the reception informed us that this Appartment did not exist anymore. Only option left was 2 separate bedrooms with one bedroom having no badroom/toilet! Getting refund was very comersome and unsure. The receptionist changed several times the story how to refund, first via booking.com, then directly and in the end payback to a virtual creditcard that I had no way of verifying if correct. Also blaming booking.com that they sold the not existing appartment. Had to pay for the 2 new rooms with not knowing to get the refund for the appartment. It was end of the day, travelling all day with my family and already arranged/payed a carpark nearby. So not accepting this and find something else during the night was not a real option. After a terrible sleep left the hotel to our next stop in Bourmouth. I sent another email to booking.com. A later got informed by booking.com that the refund was done. I never got an answer why the hotel did not inform me upfront of the incorrect booking, leaving no real choice on arrival. I suspect this happens more often and feels fishy!!! The hotel still shows this Family Appartment with 3 bedrooms in their own website!!! Don't book it and fall for this trap via booking.com!
