    Setting and building was beautiful & tranquil. Great Parking.

    Bar was closed at 5.00pm and no good after 5.We were fine as we were going out but maybe that would be a disappointment to others. No TV in our room.

    It was in a beautiful location and it was very quiet.

    I'm not good with directions and for first time had to use my sat nav to find Ashton Hall as was much further out from centre of Lancaster than I had anticipated. My son and I were only people staying overnight in Ashton Hall and returning in evening to big old mansion house we got disoriented and had difficulty finding our room having gone up the wrong stairs. The barman whom we met was very helpful but if we had arrived a couple of hours later in the dark would have been very difficult as no-one would have been on duty. I had thought we were staying in a hotel but basically it is an ancient house that does weddings but is the golf club restaurant and they let these rooms. If you like peace and quietness it is fine but on hindsight we would have been better in walking distance of Lancaster town centre as I found Lancaster the worst place to drive in with very little parking. We only stayed one of our 3 nights relocating to the Holiday Inn which had a bus right beside it into Lancaster for evening meal as no restaurant at Ashton Hall. I want to say though when we could find them in the morning all the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
