The hotel is well situated for a relaxing stay in Montreal. You are across the street from a wonderful park, and short walk from a variety of well regarded restaurants, cafes and shops in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. But there isn't a ticky tacky souvenir shop to found nearby. You must be ok with a 15 min walk to the Mont Royal metro through the residential neighborhood or 20 min walk around the park to the Sherbrooke metro station. There are also some buses that alight in the area but they were rerouted due to the Montreal Marathon during our stay. Ride share folks probably would be fine here too. Pertaining to the hotel itself we had a 1st floor 2 bedroom that was quiet and we were able to secure one of the parking spots behind the building. (They are tight and not suitable for large vehicles). The bedroom was clean and attractive and had a dorm fridge and a small writing table and a wing chair. The bedding was comfortable. The staff was multilingual (of course) speaking patient French with me and English with my family.
The bathroom of the bedroom is in sore need of renovation. Regrouting at the least in the tub but also would benefit from a new toilet seat and replacing a cracked tile. Sink was not as clean as it could be upon check in. Hot and cool is highly personal. The room has a mini split and our fall stay was rather warm. I wasn't able to figure out how to make it cooler but could open the window a tiny bit.
