We enjoyed being at the center of Aveiro. All restaurants were walking distance and the bed was pretty comfortable.
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our stay. I think it’s important for future guests to be aware that there is no air conditioning in the apartment. The apartment became extremely hot and humid, to the point where it was difficult to sleep or even get ready comfortably. On our first day, we had to go out and purchase a fan just to make the room somewhat bearable. We were advised to open the windows, but since the apartment is located on the ground floor, we did not feel very comfortable doing so, especially with people constantly walking by. Opening them helped slightly, but it still wasn’t enough. After a few nights, the owner did bring us something to help keep the apartment cooler, which we appreciated, but unfortunately, it made very little difference. We were also disappointed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the apartment. On our second night, at around 2 a.m., a framed picture suddenly fell off the wall and landed directly on my family member’s face while they were sleeping, which was very concerning. We stayed for 17 days, and during that entire time, the apartment was only cleaned once. We also had to reuse the same towels for most of our stay. We understand that daily cleaning may not be included, but for such a long stay, we expected a little more attention to cleanliness and fresh linens/towels. Overall, we really tried to make the best of our stay, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. We hope these issues are addressed so that future guests can have a more comfortable experience.
