  wonderful self-contained annex on a gorgeous little farm that is beautiful both inside and out

  From the moment we booked, Jacob and Miriam were wonderful hosts; great comms with a no-hassle attitude who were always on hand but never intrusive. Arrival was super easy, especially being able to message Jacob during the day as plans and timings shifted (he is a very patient host). The cottage itself is attached to the main farmhouse but very private and peaceful – it is set well back from the road. Outside there is a little orchard, some cosy places to sit and relax, a small garden plus ample car parking and a secure shed to store bicycles surrounded by open farmland and pretty views. In September there is the bonus of free pears and apples from the trees! Inside is immaculate, tastefully decorated, well-equipped and simply delightful. Whoever did the interior design, both practically and aesthetically, needs an award. It is also stunningly clean. Everywhere there are lovely little touches; coffee capsules for the entire stay, items in the fridge, lovely soaps, fresh eggs and even some cakes and chox. They also supply items you can either use and replace or pay a small fee for, eg beers, snack bars. A super comfy bed, a compact but wonderful wet room, a dining table with a view and so much more. The kitchen has been very thoughtfully equipped; we wanted for nothing and there is enough to be able to cook full meals from scratch. Close to the facilities in Nieuwleusen it is easy to get provisions and eat out. We had a wonderful five-night stay, with lots of cycling and other activities – could have very easily stayed much longer and not run out of places to visit and enjoy. Added to that it is solar-powered and they have more green and sustainable living plans in hand. Definitely an 11/10 place!

  Uitmuntend

  Alles! We hebben er genoten. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Jacob met een kop koffie en wat lekkers erbij. Het huisje is ontzettend gezellig ingericht en héél schoon. Het ontbijt was heel goed, we konden er s avonds nog van eten. En s avonds genieten in de tuin. Het is er heerlijk rustig. Kortom een dikke 10.

  De rust, het comfort, de tuin. De eigenaren waren heel behulpzaam zonder opdringerig te zijn (zij wonen achter het voorhuis).

  Eigenlijk niets, omgeving was heerlijk rustig!

  Wat een super locatie

  De ligging van de woning is geweldig. De woning is heel gezellig ingericht en voorzien van alle gemakken. Vanuit de woning kijk je zo over de weilanden en in de tuin. In de vroege ochtend zagen we konijnen en een groene specht. Slapen in stilte en in een donkere slaapkamer, hier geen lichtvervuiling. Als welkom was er een flesje wijn, bonbons en heerlijk gebak.
