Absolutely incredible, fabulous staff
My partner booked a night away at Balgownie to celebrate my birthday as a surprise. When we arrived we had the most relaxing hot stone massage in the day spa. The accomodation was beautifully appointed, spacious and felt luxurious. My partner had called ahead to let them know it was my birthday and upon entering the room we were greeted with sparkling wine, balloons, chocolate and a card. We had some free time and decided to head to the cellar door for the wine and chocolate tasting. Our host Jenny was incredible. A warm personality with immense knowledge of the wines that we were offered. At dinner time we headed to the restaurant and had the 5 course degustation menu paired with wines from the estate. The food was absolutely delicious. Best meal of my life. The chef was accomodating of our request for no seafood and the alternative dishes offered were amazing. Our waitress Narelle was a vibrant, warm and friendly personality. Narelle was incredibly knowledgeable about the foods we were served and her friendly banter entertained us throughout the night, and Narelle even brought a dessert with a candle and the words “Happy Birthday” in chocolate sauce. This entire experience has been so fabulous and made me feel incredibly special on my birthday. I would definitely recommend Balgownie Estate and I look forward to the next time I get to come here.
The only thing I don’t like is having to go home and return to reality.
