    A perfect place to stay in Matera!

    Staying in a traditional Italian apartment in the center of Matera was a true delight. We really appreciated how comfortable and accessible this flat was to all the attractions of Matera. We spent most of our time in the light filled kitchen at the table when not outside exploring. What a great place.

    The flat was on the 4th floor I think. Our host presented a funny video of him going up the flights to unlock the door, breathing harder and harder. It really wasn't that hard to walk up those stairs in the end! Ha!

    Great location, right next to Matera's old town, surrounded by lots of cafes and grocery stores. The house is comfortable and spacious. There were enough towels, toiletries, and welcome water in the fridge. There are air conditioners everywhere, which will definitely come in handy during hot weather.

    I would like to have peace and quiet at night, but the blinds bang very loudly. There is also a strange humming noise: maybe it's the ventilation, maybe it's the transformer on the roof, but it's a constant hum. Once these things are sorted out, the guesthouse looks great.
