Confusing parking, not easy to re-lock door. Nasty seasonal large bugs. Dead bugs in room. Expensive for what we got but popular area. But it was quiet and conveniently located.

A Nice Quiet Stay With Fantastic Hosts

We stayed at Battle Creek Lodge two nights while in the area. Cine and Tam are wonderful hosts. Cine shared the history of the lodge with us and gave us tips on what to see and do in the area. Parking was easy right in front of the lodge. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed two nights of quiet, restful sleep. The homemade blueberry muffins were delicious as was the coffee and fresh fruit. If we ever return to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

    Quiet, Comfortable, Great Owners

We had a very nice stay at the Battle Creek Lodge recently. At first I was a little taken back by the location being right on the street, I guess I missed that in the photos on the internet. I was worried that it would be loud - it was not at all. This is a side street so the noise is very minimal, as opposed to those staying on the main drag of Keystone where it reminded me of an old Los Vegas strip with all of the stores, lights, etc. The room consisted of a king bed, TV, night stands, refrigerator with a microwave on top, and a coffee maker. There was no view out of our room as we were on the first floor, unsure of any views out of the 2nd floor rooms. The bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water in the shower, and the room was nicely appointed. I think what really makes this place click are the owners who were very personable. Each morning they served coffee, juice, etc. as well as homemade muffins, or scones while we were there - very, very good. They talked a lot of the history of the place, the area, the people and truly love what they do. I've seen other people mention poor communication with them, we never experienced anything like that, in fact we received daily emails for almost 5 days prior to our arrival. What I liked about the place is it is quiet, comfortable, and very nice people owning it. I can't speak for the other places in town, other than they sat on a busy street which everyone going to and from Mt. Rushmore drive on. If we return, it will be here. Thanks Joe and Donna

really close to lots of tourist spots, i enjoyed shopping and eating in areas near by. also super well placed town in between rapid city and custard. we loved staying in a lodge instead of a hotel.
