  Loved the island location and the room

  The first night we got there the hot water was not working. Went to the main office the next morning after reporting for our rental and the general manager (Tony) said we didn't need a bath and that someone would come between 9:40-10 they didn't I had to call back and the young man who answered suggested we take a shower at the north end of the beach at public showers and then finally someone showed up around 12 to fix. Also side note the sheets when we got there were grimy and salty pretty sure they were not changed

  Tybee Rental needs training in Custo

  Pool was close and clean along with great access to beach.

  Rental company not impressed at all! They don’t answer the phone. We were given queen sheets for a cal king bed checked in at 4 took until 11:30 the next day when we walked into Tybee rental and had to wait 40 min for a set of cal king sheets. Their customer service stinks- find another rental co you will be disappointed

  My 11 year old cried tears of joy when we returned home. I too have never been so exhausted.

  Continuation of dislike due to character limit: The listing images use strategic framing and angles that misrepresent the size of the space. The wall cutout at the foot of the bed is far closer than it appears in photos, leaving almost no room to move and resulting in many stubbed toes. What the images do not show at all are the four large chairs in the main room. They do not fit the space and create significant clutter. The same is true of the balcony. The listing shows a single chair, but the balcony actually holds four chairs and a table. This furniture would have been impossible to accidentally leave out of the photos. It would have had to be removed before the listing images were taken. The bathroom sink stopper was broken on arrival, the handle fully detached and the drain stuck closed. This raises a genuine question about the thoroughness of the cleaning process between guests. Not sure how a bathroom can be cleaned and not include running water in a sink. Was it truly an oversight, or intentional failure to report? We requested a late checkout until noon. We were told no because guests were checking in that same day. I asked if 11 am was possible and was again told no. We gathered our things and waited by the pool. From where we sat, our unit was in full view. No one entered the room before 11 am. A noon checkout would have been hours before our own room was cleaned for us on arrival. The urgency applied to our departure was never applied to our check-in. I learned later that day from a local the Tybee Vacation Rentals frequently offer early check-in and late-check out for a fee. I gladly would have paid it. Beach Racket is amazing! Tybee Vacation Rentals is NOT. AVOID!!!

  The listing contains no mention that check-in is handled at an office more than a mile from Beach Racket. The welcome and check-in instructions reference both locations without making the distance between them clear. I chose not to rent a car, a decision made in part on the assumption that the office was near the condo and that we could store our bags onsite to enjoy the beach and explore the island. That assumption was not unreasonable given the information available. The undisclosed distance made every aspect of check-in and checkout significantly more inconvenient than it should have been. We were unable to access the beach prior to check in. Upon learning the situation, I requested early check-in. It was 11 am The receptionist said housekeeping would be contacted and that we would be notified. 3 hours passed with no word. So at 2 pm we returned to the office and found our welcome packet available. Reasonably assuming this meant the room was ready, we got a ride to the condo. The door code was not yet active. We called again about early check-in and were told, again, that housekeeping would be contacted. They arrived shortly after. We then received a message that we could enter. However, we could not, because housekeeping was still cleaning. We waited outside with our bags for an hour. Our room was not ready until after 3 pm, more than 4 hours after our first request and only one hour before our scheduled check-in time. Continues above...
