    Excellent base for a holiday

    We wanted to do two days at the Beamish Museum so it made sense to have an overnight stay, and the location, only a couple of miles or so from the museum was perfect. All the staff we had contact with were extremely helpful, polite, friendly and clearly loved working there. The lady at reception even told us that there was a big group booking in the restaurant that night and told us the time it was booked, so we could then make a choice to go before or after that time. This worked perfectly for us. The food we had in the evening was first class. I opted for a lentil shepherds pie, as I dont eat meat and my partner had steak. We both had dessert. If you like sticky toffee pudding, dont miss out on this one, it is superb. The waitress said they were well known for it. The room was immaculate, and we had asked for twin beds, which were very comfortable. Plenty of hot water too in the shower room. We had a very decent breakfast in the morning to set us up for a lot of walking. We were in a downstairs room and it was also great to be able to bring our car to park right outside the room. I would highly reccomend to anyone wanting to visit the museum and/or other places in this part of the country.

    Struggling to work out how to use the shower. However, i have the same issue everywhere I go.

    Rooms dated and no parking space outside room even though they were notified in advance that we were travelling with someone with limited mobility in my opinion if you book a room you should be able to park outside it but no golfing people were allowed to park outside your room
