Enjoyable stay but the property is in need of some TLC and should be described more accurately.

The property was conveniently located for our requirements, sitting in a quiet residential area on the edge of woodland. It is a 15 min walk to the town centre, but there are some great walks to the west that are mostly on footpaths. There is a good, south-facing terrace area and a large garden (shared with the hosts). The bed was comfortable and we slept reasonably well despite the challenges of the heat on some nights. The availability of a washing machine and dryer was very helpful, and the kitchen equipment (cooker, toaster and microwave) was adequate for our fairly limited needs. It was great to be able to have our little dog with us and he enjoyed his walks in the garden.

It is not accurate to describe the property as a bungalow - it is a self-contained annex that shares its services with the host's bungalow, to which it is attached (and linked via an internal door that was locked during our stay). The two external photos I have uploaded show the booked property to the left of the white line (front) and right of the white line (rear). Whilst we did not necessarily expect a detached property, we were disappointed that the description did not make it clear that the property was part of a larger dwelling and that it would be possible to hear the hosts talking and moving around (presumably they could hear us too). We were also disturbed on more than one occasion by the hosts' car being started right outside our open bedroom window (once at 6 am). The internal decor was tired and the carpet in the dining area was stained. One dining chair had a leg basically hanging off to the extent that it could well have collapsed under the wight of anyone sitting on it. The very small en suite (getting in and out would be very difficult for anyone of large build) had no windows or ventilation, which meant a less-than-pleasant atmosphere in the room on occasions. The description made it clear that there was no dishwasher but we were astonished to find there was no plug for the kitchen sink (we bought one for £1.10) or bowl, scourer or dishcloth. There was no hoover, dustpan and brush or any other means of cleaning up a spillage. And in terms of drinking water or soft drinks, there were just two pint glasses. (We bought a cheap four-pack of tumblers). Finally, there was no fan available for ventilation. Fortunately, we had taken our own, mostly for the benefit of our small dog, who struggles with the heat.
