    Comfortable, cozy cottage, with a few shortcomings on facilities provided!

    Very cozy, comfortable and clean. Was near Syrencot where my daughter’s wedding was held. Heating/ hot water very easy to control, and facilities were good

    I cooked chilli for the first night, only to find there were no bowls to dish up and eat. My husband had to go out and get some disposable ones, along with paper towel which was not provided. There was only one rubbish bag that we could find, so I bought some. Also no hairdryer we could find, although one was found as we were checking out, in the second bedroom. There is also some damage to the walls where plaster has come off, that was emitting a smell that wasn’t pleasant, in passing. There is also slight leak from the upstairs toilet, which appears when it has been flushed and coming from the handle, suggesting the water level is set too high. This has led to some limescale marks on the tiles below. This is not a negative, however, and just commented on so owners are aware. The sign for the property is dirty and not apparent, as indeed is the whole of the outside, with a run-down appearance. We drove past several times before finding it. That said, we had a comfortable stay in a lovely old cottage, which fascinated our US family members that stayed and would book again!

    Weekend Stay

    It is in a great location. Quiet country setting but easy access to lots of routes. The house has character and everything you could need for a comfortable stay

    I was looking forward to having the log burner on, but unfortunately, this was not working
