    Great hutong experience with lovely staff

    Staff was the best ever. We received tea at night and lovely breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the pagoda. The hutong is very charming, with some cool bars and reataurants couple of minutes away.

    Oase der Gastfreundschaft in den Hutongs

    Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen in der Nähe einer modernisierten Fußgängerzone mit Restaurants, westlichen Bäckereien und Cafés. Auch die U-Bahn ist nicht weit. Gleichzeitig ist es sehr ruhig. Es ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet und die Gastgeberinnen waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und halfen uns bei allen unseren Fragen und Anliegen. Sie bereiteten uns morgens liebevoll ein Frühstück bestehend aus frischen Dumplings, zweierlei Obst, Croissants und weiteren Leckereien zu. Besondere Erwähnung bedarf der sehr gute Cafe aus der Siebträgermaschine. Die Zimmer sind schön und alles ist vorhanden.

    Manchmal hat man das Abwasser gerochen. In dem Zimmer mit dem Bett auf der Empore unter dem Dach war es abends teils etwas warm, weil die Luft vom offenen Fenster nicht so gut nach oben kam. Das ist aber eine Kleinigkeit.

    Very nice hotel

    We lived in really Chinese district, it was amazing. The room was great, my kids loved it. Second level was vwery naice for sleeping. Every morning we had a breakfast on the top with a good view. My kids cooked dumplings with the staff

    Peaceful hutong location, short walk to great eateries, experience a slice of local life

    The view from the peaceful rooftop terrace over to the dagoba was lovely. The room was a good size and very clean. The two receptionists were lovely and super helpful - we used our phones' translation apps to communicate successfully - they really made my stay a pleasure. The traditional hutong location in Xicheng District was great - off the tourist track, quiet (since very few cars pass through) a short walk to nearby historic Miaoying Dagoba (Temple) and some lovely places to eat, drink and hang out in Gongmenkou east and west alleys. The area was really interesting for experiencing a slice of local life, especially taking a wander in the early morning and evening, but was central enough to be convenient using a driver or public transport to get to central tourist attractions. I personally LOVED staying/shopping/eating out in an area where English wasn't spoken or was rarely spoken - google translate made comms possible where needed, and people were always ready to try to help!
