CHEMICAL EXPOSURE if that matters to you
Communication was available and friendly. The apartment was fairly well-appointed and was well-located.
Whoever cleaned the place must have serious issues being able to smell. The entire place was heavily saturated with chemical "fragrance," giving me an immediate headache. The elevator was broken, I had an irritated back, and the stairs are very steep. The entry issue was not just regarding picking up keys. The door has no sign on it. And the lights in the hall/steps go off so fast you may find yourself standing in darkness wondering what the heck to do.

A superb central apartment steeped in history for that perfect Autumn break!
This is a stunning property steeped in history and in a perfect location to easily explore the beauty of Bergamo and the exceptional hills north of the old town. Everything is easily accessible walking straight from the apartment. Museums, art galleries galore if that is what you like. Views everywhere are stunning and at all hours. Our host could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and provided us with fantastic communication before our stay. She offered us excellent recommendations of local places to visit and eat. We had problems with times of flights and she understood and helped resolve our problems positively and calmly. A perfect host. The guides she provided included an excellent walking map with 10 circular hikes in the area. We did most of these and therefore didn't make use of the excellent transport which was easily available minutes away from the apartment. Parts of the old town get very popular but it is very easy to walk 100 metres away and find peace and quiet. The apartment is on the second floor and was great for the two of us. Everything we needed for cooking was in the kitchen, small supermarket at the end of the road and amazing baker opening at 7 each morning for fresh treats. Nights were really quiet especially after the traditional curfew bells tolled! Loads of great places to eat and of course have delicious ice cream. Couldn't be better.
Having to leave was hard ..but we hope to return one day!
