  Bad experience

  The bread rolls were fresh in the morning...Nothing else we can think of... :-(

  We booked Belle du Jour as it looked quirky but appealing on the website and very close to attractions in Ostend. Although we were aware that there was no lift, we did not realise that, being put on the top floor, we would be climbing up 5-6 flights of narrow stairs to get to our 'room'. We were under the impression that that was an apartment as in apart-hotel, but we were disappointed to note it was only a room. There was a kettle and a coffee machine, however, the coffee machine still had water in it from a previous occupant. The cups provided were tiny and not fit for purpose. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied and there was only one toilet roll and only 4 or 5 coat hangers. To be fair, Els did provide more of these when requested. When we arrived, there was loud music from the street which Els explained away as a shop with a DJ but we did not expect this to go on after opening hours. We were not told that the very loud music from the bar directly below the accommodation would continue well into the early hours, making it impossible to sleep. She had provided ear plugs, so maybe this should have been a clue!! As it was my wife's birthday treat, it was awful seeing her almost burst into tears with such a disappointing place to stay... So much so we simply had to look for somewhere else to stay at a further cost of over 230 Euros! When we wrote directly to Els, she was very dismissive and almost rude in her response. Strongly advise that anyone else who is considering staying here books with caution if you struggle with stairs, especially with luggage... If you are that way inclined, there is an Erotic Cinema/sex-shop across the street! It isn't 'Beach front' either

  Ik kom hier graag terug

  Hele mooie en ruime kamer met een groot en comfortabel bed. Inloopdouche,... Ontbijt wordt aan de kamer gebracht.

  Locatie is centraal gelegen en het strand is vlakbij. Ligt vlak in uitgaansbuurt, je hebt nachtlawaai. Maar gemakkelijk op te lossen met goede oordopjes

  Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und groß. Es liegt zentral, das Meer ist schnell erreicht und umliegende Geschäfte laden zum bummeln ein. Die Vermieterin war hilfsbereit und hat uns am zweiten Morgen mit Ohrstöpseln versorgt.

  Leider befindet sich in nächster Nähe eine Bar. Durch die laute Musik konnten wir nicht schlafen. Dadurch ist das B&B am Wochenende leider nicht zu empfehlen.
