  By far the worst stay - discrepancies with the listing, terrible conditions and refund issues

  This was by far the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. We booked the apartment Belvedere di Ancona for 4 people for 7 nights (27 August - 3 September 2026). Due to the terrible conditions we found on arrival, we left after the first night and had to arrange alternative accommodation at our own expense. Discrepancy with the booking: although the stay was paid for 4 people, the apartment was prepared for only 3. An additional small towel was delivered only after our complaint and after we showed the host the booking confirmation. Very poor condition and low standard: the apartment was dirty and smelled of mustiness. The bedding and towels were worn out and had an unpleasant smell. The furnishings were in very poor condition: the clothes dryer was damaged and held together with tape and string, and the chopping boards were blackened and heavily worn. There were cracks and peeling plaster on the walls and balcony. A leaking glass panel by the bathtub caused the bathroom to flood while showering. Missing equipment and changes to the listing: a coffee machine was clearly stated in the listing description and visible in the photos on the day of booking, but it was not there when we arrived. After we raised the issue, the host removed the photos of the coffee machine from the Booking.com listing and deleted it from the description, then claimed that the coffee machine had never been part of the offer. We have screenshots from the day of booking confirming the original version of the listing. Limited amenities and distance from the center: there are very few shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and it is about a 30-minute walk to the center. Problems with the refund: after we reported our concerns about the condition of the property, the owner gave written consent to our early departure and confirmed a refund for the 6 unused nights. Despite this written agreement, the agreed refund was not paid after we left.

  Ancona est une très belle ville

  Un accueil très chaleureux ! Andrea a été adorable et parlait notre langue, ce qui a vraiment facilité les échanges. Il prenait régulièrement de nos nouvelles et s’assurait que nous ne manquions de rien, en nous demandant si nous avions besoin de quoi que ce soit. Une personne très sympathique et attentionnée !

  Les photos de l’appartement sont très jolies et donnent une très bonne première impression, mais malheureusement, la réalité était assez différente. Le stationnement est assez compliqué et l’entretien général du bâtiment laisse vraiment à désirer. Les photos présentent un logement très propre et bien entretenu, mais sur place, nous avons constaté de nombreux défauts concernant l’entretien du bâtiment. L’appartement nécessite un gros rafraîchissement niveau portes, murs,… Ce qui était dommage aussi, machine à café comme mot sur les photos qui était une toute petite cafetière italienne pour une personne. Petits détails qui sont très importants pour nous.. Le hall d’entrée, notamment, était particulièrement problématique. Pour accéder aux escaliers, nous avons retrouvé quotidiennement des excréments d’animaux, qui semblaient être ceux de rats ou de petits rongeurs (difficile de savoir exactement). Cette situation était assez désagréable et donnait une impression de manque d’entretien et d’hygiène. C’est dommage, car l’appartement en lui-même aurait pu être très agréable, mais l’état et l’entretien du bâtiment ont malheureusement beaucoup diminué notre expérience. Surtout que nous avons un animal ( chien) qui aurait pu avoir des soucis de santés dû aux excréments quotidiens
