Beautiful accomodations with some minor issues

Location was EXCELLENT! Easy to find, on street parking available (3 hour out front, overnight a few easy blocks away). Loft was very clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. Nice breeze when windows were open. Location couldn't be beat - easy walk to restaurants, shops, and sights. Nice view of the city from balcony.

The rotten egg/ sulfur smell from the water was nearly intolerable. I had to buy bottled water nearby instead of refilling my water bottle. The noise level from the streets is very high and goes on very late. We were a family of 4 and the noise was really distruptive. If it had been me and my husband traveling back when we were 25 , it would've been fine - we probably would've been going to the nearby bars and making the noise but as a family of 4 it was bothersome. At one point there were 6-8 drunk adults screaming, yelling and carrying on in the alley behind the building (seems to be where a nearby bar lets out). The noise went on well past 2am. Again, this was more of an issue given we are in our 40s traveling with kids. For 20something folks this probably wouldn't be an issue.

Overpriced nightmare in a great location — never again

Rating: 2/10 – completely overpriced, major disappointment. The location is great — but that’s about it. Everything else was a disaster for the price. Horrible water quality – you literally cannot even brush your teeth because of the unbearable rotten egg smell. The host only mentions this after booking via private messages, a classic tourist trap move. Worn-down apartment – furniture is old, scratched, and worn out. Kitchen poorly equipped for something that calls itself a “luxury loft.” Zero comfort – you have to climb 45 very steep stairs, no elevator. Definitely not suitable for families or anyone with luggage. Noise – extremely loud from early morning till late night, you basically sleep right above Reykjavik’s party street. TVs in Chinese language only, no option to switch — great fun trying to guess what you’re clicking if you don’t speak Mandarin . Price – for over €1100 for 2 nights, we expected premium quality, got a rundown student flat vibe instead. Reykjavik offers better options. For this price point, this place is a joke. Would not recommend.
