Don't expect housekeeping service unless you request it, but they still want a tip
3-night stay. This is supposed to be the best hotel in Duchesne. First the pros. Rooms are clean, neat, and quiet. Large and spacious. Comfortable bed Large bathroom, thick towels Roomy closet and large dresser Full length mirror AC runs continuously with a fan when not actually cooling—eliminates turning off/on noise Kitchenette with Large fridge, sink, cooktop, microwave, service for 4 dishware Big swimming pool and hot tub Large parking with place to park a utility trailer Great breakfast that rotates hot items daily. Standard waffles, cereal, pastries, breads. Free flowing yogurt so you can have a little or a lot with 3 add ins. Apples and fruit cocktail. 3 days, 3 different hot items. Bacon & scrambled egg patties, sausage links/fried potatoes/scrambled eggs with ham bits, fried eggs & bacon. Cons First hotel room that didn’t have a sitting chair, you had to lay or sit on bed to read or watch tv. It had 2 large ottomans in each corner instead of chairs. There was a bar with the microwave that was long enough to sit up and eat. Two barstools that were so tall that they barely fit under the bar. Your legs don’t fit under the bar so you sit back a couple feet from it. Kitchen items consisted of 1 fork, 1 spoon, 2 knives, Spatula, large plastic spoon, can opener, 1 fry pan, 2 small pots. No sharp knives. Not even enough silverware for 2 people. Bathroom, in spite of being large, the sink area was tiny with barely enough room to put anything on either side of the sink. Plenty of room to have a larger vanity if configured differently. Ours was an accessible room with bars near the toilet and tub. But if you need accessible it is difficult to step over the tub. A walk-in shower should be mandatory in accessible rooms. Whatever brand of toilet paper they use, they need to change it-shreds upon use. Spotty internet. You can’t connect on the top floor. I had to go down to the desk and they said to try connecting on that floor. It connected but then went in and out several time while we were there. When did everyone decide they need to be tipped? They have a QR code in the room with the housekeeper’s names so you can tip them. There is also a tip jar in the breakfast room. Biggest complaint. We came back to a clean room the first day. The 2nd day we returned and the room had not been touched. So, no clean towels, unmade bed, overflowing garbage cans. When checking out the 3rd day I informed the desk and was told that if you wanted the room cleaned every day you had to request it! Seriously at those prices they can’t clean unless you ask them to—and still expect you to tip? There was nothing posted in the room and no door hanger that you could put out requesting service. Needless to say, we won’t be staying here again.
