The room had a very distinct, strong odor detectable as soon as the door opened. Had to "Fabreeze" the room and leave for a couple hours. Pool looked as if it hasn't been cleaned this year and patio furniture was filthy. Offered to clean furniture for family gathering, but, staff claimed not to know location of cleaning products

Best Stay in Bay City — Clean, Comfortable & Caring Staff
Stayed at Best Western Plus Bay City recently and honestly had such a comfortable experience. The hotel looks very nicely renovated and everything felt clean and fresh from the moment we walked in. The lobby was welcoming, the staff at the front desk were polite and helpful, and check-in was smooth and fast. Our room was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly which was amazing after being outside in Texas heat all day. The bathroom was spotless, towels were fresh, and housekeeping did a really good job throughout our stay. One thing I really appreciated was how peaceful and quiet the property felt at night. We were able to sleep comfortably without noise issues. The breakfast in the morning was also better than expected — fresh coffee, waffles, eggs, cereal, juice, and everything stayed stocked even during busy hours. You can tell the management and staff are genuinely trying hard to improve the property and make guests happy. For the price, this hotel honestly exceeded expectations and felt safer, cleaner, and more comfortable than many hotels I’ve stayed at recently. Location and the value for the money was worth it as well. Definitely would stay here again if I’m back in Bay City. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!
