  Expérience fabuleuse à Veliko Tarnovo

  Cadre splendide nous faisant revivre la Bulgarie au temps des Ottomans et du "Réveil National". Notre chambre de la Tsarine Maria Luisa. Le bain turc. Le dîner et le petit déjeuner. La localisation en plein coeur de Veliko Tarnono. Le spectacle Son et Lumière auquel nous avons eu la chance d'assister en l'honneur d'une Fête Nationale

  Fussy and pretentious hotel with bad service and rude staff

  The garden restaurant was very pleasant and most of the menu was excellent. Toiletries were a posh brand. Hairdryer was VERY expensive too.

  Rude, surly and unelpful staff who never smile. Non-existent service. Reception refused to help us with the bags on checking in. We did not even ask on checking out. Bathroom was dirty: hairs and scum in bath. The bath leaked and the shower was broken. No parking at all. Staff told us it was ok to park on street outside and the next day called the parking attendant to clamp our car. We had to pay €30 to release it. The reception requires a huge cash deposit on checking in and does not give a receipt. Checking out is an hour earlier than similar hotels. The room was fussy and pretentiously furnished with uncomfortable bed, bad pillows and a down duvet in the middle of summer. There was not enough space to hang clothes. A/c didn't work well. Music from the garden restaurant was too loud and could be heard in the bedroom. Chef was too fond of odd foods like spelt where rice would have suited and various foams and smears and sprinkles which added nothing to the dish.

  Fantastic experience

  My daughter and I stayed at Bey House, and from the very first moment we felt that we had discovered somewhere truly special. This is a hotel where nothing has been left to chance. Every detail has been designed with extraordinary attention, from the beautiful and elegant interiors to the impeccable cleanliness and exceptional service. What makes Bey House truly unforgettable, however, is the people. Every single member of the team manages to be discreet, attentive and genuinely warm at the same time. They are always ready to help, to take care of the smallest detail, to offer advice, or simply to make your day a little more enjoyable. Everything is done with such natural warmth and ease that you feel not simply like a hotel guest, but like someone they genuinely care about. The food deserves a special mention. Breakfast is wonderful. You make your selection the evening before and the following morning everything is freshly prepared especially for you. Dinner was an absolute pleasure: exceptionally delicious dishes and desserts, fresh salads, a wonderful variety of choices and a beautifully curated wine list. Everything is prepared and presented with great care and taste. The atmosphere is elegant, peaceful and quite unlike anything else you will find in the area. Bey House has its own distinctive character and sense of style without ever feeling pretentious. It has that rare combination of beauty, comfort and genuine hospitality that cannot be created by beautiful interiors alone because it comes from the people. Our stay here was one of the highlights of our visit to Veliko Tarnovo. We are leaving with wonderful memories and the feeling that we have discovered somewhere we would very happily return to. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Bey House for making our stay so special. A true gem, and a wonderful example of hospitality at its very best.
