A very peaceful location with no passing traffic or light pollution. Cosy and clean with everything needed for a great stay.
I wouldn’t change a thing. Absolutely nothing I can think of to change or improve.

Great for Astrophotographers and nature lovers, or just someone wanting to get away from the hustle.
I was looking for a change of scenery that was nice and quiet in a dark sky area that was comfortable. This met all expectations being on a farm, so that meant while it was dark at night (as in exceptionally dark, I could see the Milky Way on one night and more stars that I think I have ever seen in a sky at the same time), the daytime had quite a lot of nature around to photograph. The bed was really comfy so with the dark and silence, it was the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. The lodge is well equipped including an air fryer (I'm easily pleased sometimes) and the hosts are really nice and friendly with a lot of local knowledge on where things are. The farm is near to the village of Kirkby Malzeard which is a small village but also near to Masham which is a nice little village with some shops but also near Ripon that has enough to do in a day and lots of shops to stock up on things. There is a really nice Pie Shop on the square that I recommend. The other direction is close to some open areas that if you want to do astrophotography then all you need is a clear night (and very likely a warm coat and flask of hot drink) but I did manage to get a clear view of the skies from around the SE to SSW directions for the telescope but you can look all around between the trees. Just make sure not to trip over the hedgehogs at night :) Not that I did, but that was because my eyes had adjusted and there was something looking like a small rock in front of me. I will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future and I liked the lodge so much, it is the kind of place I would look to buy something similar as a residential if I move out to the sticks. I'm going to add here that be sure to stock up while you stay as there are not many takeaways around here but that's the nature of living in this kind of area.
Nothing, I really enjoyed my stay. Why this site is saying I need to write a few sentences to say there is nothing I didn't like I don't know. Blackberry Lodge is a great little hideaway.
