When life gives you lemons, hug a goat!
We had a wonderful weekend at Clearview Farm. Arriving just as a new pair of baby goats were born was such a nice surprise. Our children were excited and spent hours petting, cuddling and handling the goats. They also enjoyed handling the chickens, collecting eggs and exploring the farm. Harry the alpaca stood out as a gentle giant among the animals. One of the biggest highlights for the children was toasting marshmallows at the firepit. They kept saying marshmallows taste so much better this way. The adults had a great time too. We enjoyed interacting with the animals, watching the children have fun and trying the fresh produce around the farm. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The children loved the bunk beds and the LED lights were a fun touch. The double bed was warm and cosy; that we did not need the electric blankets. We were warmly welcomed with fresh bread, a bowl of eggs, butter and jam. They also provided cereal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and marshmallows which made us feel very looked after. The kitchen had everything we needed, including oil, glad wrap and a dishwasher. Because of the wet weather, we spent more time indoors than planned. Dave and Rachel had that covered with boardgames, computer games and craft supplies to keep the children entertained. My husband and I also enjoyed visiting the glow worms with Dave. He shared interesting insight into their life cycle and it was a memorable experience. Finally, “Farmer Dave” and “Farmer Rachel” as our children now call them, were incredibly warm, patient and kind. They made the children feel confident and comfortable. They have a natural ability to make you feel at ease and view life with patience and clarity. They wear many hats. They are parents, farmers, guides as well as cheese and ice cream makers. Seeing life through their eyes made me wish for a simpler life in the country. Clearview Farm is a beautiful place run by wonderful people and we cannot wait to return.

A great family farm experience
It was warm and comfortable. The farmer was so tolerant and patient with the children. We had fresh eggs, bread, jam and butter waiting for us. Marshmallows over the fire pit was a bonus
The second bathroom while adequate was small

We had a fantastic stay. The accommodation was peaceful, well maintained, had everything we needed and is in a great location for exploring the Blue Mountains. Rachel & Dave were exceptionally welcoming, and the glow worm were unforgettable- thank you Dave! The goats were wonderful, especially for our daughter, who absolutely loved them. Thank you for a memorable experience; we would gladly return.

Warm and welcoming hosts - plus goats!
We brought three generations of AuDHD family members with us, and there was something to captivate each of us, from ages 7 to 70+. It was a great quality bonding time for our little family. The two older children loved feeding the animals and milking the goats, and Dave and Rach went out of their way to give the children maximum goat-time (with parents' permission) at the children's request. Communication was visitor-led (I emailed before arrival then texted after arrival), and our hosts were very responsive. Our hosts made the entire experience feel warm and welcoming.
The weather did not cooperate so the eldest person in our group hesitated to explore the farm with everyone after rain (age-related balance issues) but we would definitely like to visit again in the future. The youngest member of the group was horrified to discover that goats smell like goats haha - we're clearly from the city. But 2/3 goat-approving children isn't bad, and the youngest was happy to relax at the house instead.

Welcome the Scottish! 😁
David and Rachel were fantastic hosts and were always around to help understand what we could do in the area and how to best get use out of the facilities. The house was very clean and tidy and the e highlights were certainly the two fantastic hosts.
Really everything was fantastic. Presentation of the entrance in front of the house could be better and perhaps a stereo but otherwise the place was great
