    A great location ruined by chaotic key management, defective locks and zero on-site help — avoid.

    The location is excellent, right on Bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter, and the penthouse itself has real potential.

    Almost everything related to check-in and management went wrong. On our arrival on October 9, the key was missing from the KeyCafe. The backup lockbox was not clearly identified, the code did not work at first, and once we finally got a key, the penthouse lock itself was defective (the key just spun in the lock — I have video proof). Our daughter was locked outside around 10 pm with her luggage already inside. The "emergency" phone number given was disconnected, and there is absolutely no staff on site: everything is handled by messages, late and unhelpfully. The coffee maker did not work either. And an apartment rented for six people had only ONE drinking glass. When we asked for a partial refund, the host first asked in writing whether his refund decision would influence our review, then refused any compensation. At check-out, the key-return instructions were again inconsistent with reality: the host described a lockbox labeled "PH" that simply does not exist (the boxes on site are labeled A to E), and sent two contradictory photos that do not match the actual installation. Reading older reviews, the exact same problems (keys missing, door impossible to open, guests forced to go and sleep in hotels) have been reported for months. This is a known, recurring issue that has never been fixed. I cannot recommend this property.

    We really enjoyed our stay! You cannot get a better location for visiting the French Quarter! Our room was comfortable

    Very authentic stay in New Orleans

    The location was really great! Walking distance to everything and staff were very helpful

    As it’s New Orleans these are older buildings etc which I think we didn’t overly expect how dated something’s would be.

    Good location

    Our room smelled like mildew. Our clothes smelled like mildew after we left. I suspect an AC leak as it was wet in the closet where it was. Our door didn’t actually lock. You could just push it open. The wrong keys were in our lock box and it was difficult getting a resolution to that. Ended up getting backup keys from the lock box after some messaging back and forth. We found a bug on our comforter. It’s possible other rooms were better than ours but we won’t be staying here again.
