    Exquisite masterclass of understated luxury!

    As a five star hotel Borgo Scopeto shines not through sheer luxury but through considered restraint that keeps a fantastic balance between anything one might need from a luxury stay (spa, pool, service, food, comfy room etc) and a kind-of rustic Tuscan farm experience (the grounds are huge and it's nice to take a walk through them in the morning). The staff is well trained and helpful. The views of Sienna breathtaking. The farm to table and self made cosmetics (obsessed with the lotion made with the honey they "make" on the premises) only adding to the experience. Will return for sure.

    Throughout our stay, of no fault of their own apparently, the WiFi didn't work - slightly annoying as cellphone reception isn't great at the Borgo, but also an excuse to disconnect. And while service at dinner was amazing... 3 out of 4 waiters working at breakfast didn't understand English, so ordering a soft boiled egg required them to fetch a more linguistically skilled colleague.
