    A great rural retreat with easy access to Edinburgh

    Lovely location, away from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh and yet easy access to the train station which took you straight into Edinburgh. Country walks from the doorstep in a peaceful and quiet location.

    Everything met our expectations.

    The right place for a couple if you like the countryside.

    It was very quiet and calm. We were lucky with the weather and liked to sit outside in the sun. Easy to visit Edinburgh. We made a nice walk to Crichton Castle to get a little familiar with the environment. The first evening their was bagpipe music swirling from Borthwick Castle (marriage). There are many hares in the cottage.

    Very close to Borthwick Castle, where the wedding reception was a fantastic location.

    Very quiet and lovely place and surrounding areas were really lovely.
