    Garden could have some maintenance.

Location was fantastic, close to beach, shops and pubs

Parking at the back a bit tight but that's it

    Very limited and unsafe

The towels were lovely - big and good quality

This house is not safe for young children - the windows in the room with the bunks opened very wide. It is possible to get safely clips to limit this to less than 10cms. The dinning table was only big enough to.sit 4. No side tables in living room. Not enough plates and dishes

Adequate-could have been a lot better, overall expensive as poor TV reception and rear access.

    Good room size, well equipped.

Access to back of property poor, broken bollard anchors had bolts protruding, cat/dog poo in parking area. Also used as turning area for neighbours so worried about safety of car. No TV in 2nd lounge and limited channels in main lounge, even after being "fixed". Ants in kitchen.

More vigilance needed by housekeeping team

Briar Bank has parking for two cars at the rear of the property, which is accessed via Scinde Crescent, a very narrow no through road. There is no pavement or parking at the front of the property, which is elevated above the road. There is a pedestrian exit at the other end of the Crescent. The property a short walk to the local shops, take aways and restaurants. It’s worth the ten minute walk to Shanklin Old Village with three pubs and Shanklin Chine, a brilliant attraction for the old and young. At the bottom of the Chine there is the Fisherman’s Inn and the beach. Briar Bank is a lovely property and has everything you need for a perfect stay. Plenty of character and lots of space. Excellent and ample furnishing and well-appointed kitchen although, other than breakfast we ate out or had takeaways, during our seven day stay.

The property management company failed to ensure the rear garden was clean of dog faeces, left by a previous guest’s dog. We were surprised that while showering there was standing water in the shower tray due to the drain pipe being partially blocked. The lounge door knob was loose and missing a screw. The knob fell off just missing my wife’s foot. If you need to put the heating on, be careful the thermostat isn’t securely fitted to the wall. All these should have been noticed prior to our arrival. I have brought them to the attention of the letting company who said, “We will arrange for the repairs to be addressed. The guests who stayed prior to yourself did not declare they were bringing a dog so for this reason the garden would not have been checked. We will ask the housekeeping team to be as vigilant even if a dog is not on the booking.” How could housekeeping not notice the loose door knob or loose thermostat? Worse still, they had to walk past the dog faeces which were on the path. No excuse. Notwithstanding these issues we had a great comfortable stay. Let’s hope they improve their standards for future guests, but I have to leave a lowe
