Nice quiet location with beatiful view over the sea, very helpful host
Beautiful sea-view from the nice spacious balcony with both tables, chairs and sunbeds. Large apartment with fully equipped kitchen, livingroom, two bedrooms and bathrooms. Close and easy access to the sea and swimmingpool just outside. Parking directly outside. Just very little traffic. Quiet area in general and very quiet apartment. Nice and very helpful host that responded very quickly on your questions. He gave so much advice on what to see, how to get there, where to shop and get good food and give you any other tourist-advice you would need.
The "price" for being in this nice and quiet area is that you are some distance (4-5 km) from central Funchal. Be prepared for a long walk or drive by car, bus or taxi if you want to get to/from central Funchal.

On the beach. Spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely balcony overlooking the sea. Comfortable lounge/dining area.
No natural light in bedrooms. Uncomfortable bed and bedding/pillows. No curtains in bedroom to block out artificial night light. Corks for handles on saucepan lids. Very, very steep steps up to bus stop into Funchal/local shops.
