excellent first-time visitor's location for a group-stay in a bustling central location!
The most important thing is: the photos and description are ACCURATE! the place is so cute! Fantastic Location for a first time visit to Madrid! We came for a wedding. As a group of friends we just loved having the living room and kitchen space to spend time together with the balcony doors open to allow for the breeze and sounds of the city to come in! The kitchen looked newly remodeled-- gorgeous! The apartment was clean with ample towels. The A/C worked great! It was wonderful to have coffee pods & small crackers available for us given our jet-lag. The bathroom even had a great Dyson-quality hair dryer! The location is next to an all-in-one mall: it had shopping, a salon (I got my hair done before the party), and a grocery store. The area was very busy and I always felt safe.
It was initially hard to find because it is on a pedestrian street, but once we did it was pretty easy to give directions. it's actually incredibly straight forward--so the host should consider giving a different address for the cab, you just walk approximately a street. Given the location I knew it would be loud, I had earplugs and it was no issue whatsoever. If you need pin drop silence to sleep, don't stay in the center of the city--that is just common sense and would apply to any apartment in the area. the protests (peaceful) were nearby, and I never felt unsafe or concerned.
